If your job requires that you stay informed on District environmental regulations and building management best practices or if you are interested in energy incentives and financing, this workshop's for you.

Who Should Attend?

Building engineers and maintenance staff, developers, contractors, stakeholders interested in air quality regulations, hazardous waste requirements and best practices, DCSEU energy incentives, and PACE financing.

 

All workshop participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Mary Lynn Wilhere

Sustainable Business Programs, Urban Sustainability Administration, DOEE

With a MPPA Environmental Management degree and more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Wilhere assists businesses to implement sustainable best practices and reduce their environmental impacts.

Stephen S. Ours, P.E.

Chief, Permitting Branch, Air Quality Division, DOEE

With a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia, Mr. Ours has more than 18 years of experience implementing air quality permitting and regulatory programs.

Ralph Knatt

Environmental Protection Specialist, Air Quality Division, DOEE

With over 28 years of experience as a Certified Building Analyst, Mr. Knatt specializes in commercial and residential energy auditing, investigatory reporting, lead and asbestos inspections, and quality control monitoring.

Victoria North

Environmental Protection Specialist, Hazardous Waste Branch, Toxic Substances Division, DOEE

Ms. North has over eight years of experience providing outreach information related to Hazardous Waste to a variety of businesses.

Cory Chimka

Account Manager
District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU)

 

Cory is the DCSEU’s Account Manager for DC public, charter, and private schools. Prior to joining the DCSEU, he worked for more than 10 years as an award-winning District of Columbia Public School teacher before transitioning to a role with Columbia University focusing on teacher development, followed by scaling up after school programs at DC schools.

Upasana Kaku

Senior Analyst, PACE Program, Urban Ingenuity

 

Ms. Kaku is a Senior Analyst at Urban Ingenuity, the Program Administrator for the DC PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) financing program. She focuses on project development support, working with property owners and contractors to structure energy efficiency projects and arrange for financing.

Ida Arabshahi

District of Columbia Program Manager for PaintCare

Ms. Arabshahi has a dual master's degree in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from American University and the University for Peace in Costa Rica. She has worked in the public, private, and non-profit sectors with organizations such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Strategic Sustainability Consulting, and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
